Inductive Loop Assistive Listening System
The “Loop” system transmits using inductive field energy from alternating current flowing through coils, loops or long wires. Loop Technology The advantage of this type of transmission is that inductive receivers are built-in to many hearing aids, so an Assistive Listening Device (receiver) is not required to hear a loop signal. When the user switches their hearing aid to T-coil they pick up inductive field energy instead of acoustic sound. The 2010 Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) changes to compliance standards requires that all newly constructed or altered facilities must provide assistive listening systems.*
